2,8-Bis(di(tert-butyl)carbazol-9-yl)-oxygafluorene (DBO) was synthesized as the host material for high-efficiency blue PHOLEDs.

The hole mobility of the vacuum deposited layer of DBO achieved values of the order of 10-2cm2 / VS , the triplet energy of 2.81 eV, and the energies of HOMO/
LUMO for DBO were found to be -5.20 eV and -1.40 eV, respectively.

The blue PhOLEDs displayed low turn-on voltage, maximum external quantum efficiency, current efficiency, and power efficiency of 3.0V, 16.5%, 34.3 cd/A, and 35.9 lm/W, and low efficiency roll-off.
