A New family of deep-blue TADF emitters, consisting of pretwisted acridan–pyrimidine D–A motifs, were designed and synthesized. By employing these TADF emitters for OLEDs, considerably high maximum external EL quantum efficiencies of up to 20.4% with CIE coordinates of (0.16, 0.23) were achieved. Deep-blue EL with CIE coordinates of (0.15, 0.15) could also be obtained through rational molecular design in this platform.
