Novel bis(phenylsulfone) acceptor based CzBSO and tCzBSO materials worked as high QE TADF emitters affording a high QE of over 18.0% as sky blue and green emitters. The strong electron accepting character of the bis(phenylsulfone) acceptor unit

allowed the fulfilment of the TADF characteristics to be realized even when it was linked with carbazole type donors. Therefore, the bis(phenylsulfone) type acceptor can be valuable in the design of materials with strong donor–acceptor character.
