High efficiency yellow organic light-emitting diodes with a solution-process feasible Iridium based Emitter

We demonstrate here the synthesis of a fluorinated yellow emitter, FCF3BNO, with solution-process feasibility, high thermal stability and high efficiency. The device shows, at 1,000 cd/m an external quantum efficiency of 22.7% with an efficacy of 49.2 lm/W . Its color saturation can be enhanced to 110% as the yellow emitter is added along with the standard RGB. The resultant RGBY 4-emission pure white light of 6,000K is 8% more human friendly and also 8% better for melatonin secretion.
